Mary Carpenter
Mary trained at CCM, Butler University, David Howard Dance Center on scholarship, and the National Shakespeare Conservatory. She performed in numerous musicals and plays along the east coast, including New York City Opera. She danced for The Metropolitan Opera Ballet and as a principal guest artist for Ohio Dance Theatre and Granite State Ballet; as a soloist for Charleston Ballet, Lexington Ballet and Maryland Ballet.
She is a former faculty member of Barnard College, The New School University, The Ballet Hispanico school, and Broadway Dance Center. Mary has directed nine ballet classroom music CDs and three young dancer DVDs as well as being featured in several of the late master teacher David Howard’s instructional DVDs.
She is certified in Pilates mat and Progressing Ballet Technique/PBT in addition to teaching ballet. Mary is a pointe shoe expert and shares her knowledge on her Youtube channel – Dancewithmary NYC “for any and all things pointe shoes.”

I recently discovered a love of musical theatre. I have performed in many musicals in the last three years. I was hired as a resident company ensemble member for Music Theatre Wichita’s 2017 season which included; Newsies, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Hairspray. I performed on the Pioneer Theatre stage in Mamma Mia and most recently I was honored to play the lead, Jerry Mulligan, in Hale Center Theatre’s production of An American in Paris.
Dancing is my most honest form of communication. It is what I was put here to do, and I am so ecited to continue my journey with you.

Madison Rose Jordan

💃 MADISON ROSE JORDAN
Madison is a dancer, instructor, and choreographer based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She trained at Larkin Dance Studio from the age of 3. After high school she went on to dance for the University of Minnesota’s dance team, where she played a role in winning a double national championship.
Madison continued her passion for dance and made top 6 on So You Think You Can Dance season 16 and toured across the country performing with the top 10.
She has also appeared on The Ellen Degeneres show and America’s Got Talent. She shortly lived in Los Angeles pursuing a professional dance career, while being signed with Bloc Talent Agency.
Madison is currently living in Minnesota as a full time staff member of Larkin Dance Studio and a company member for Crash Dance Productions, a professional, contemporary dance company based in the Twin Cities.
She also travels around the U.S teaching and choreographing for other competitive studios and judges for dance competitions such as Showbiz Dance Competition.

Josh Nixon
Josh Nixon began dancing at the Centreville Dance Academy in Virginia. As a well-rounded student of dance, Josh trained in ballet, lyrical, jazz. Mr. Nixon’s professional choice was the art of Tap Dance, encouraged by his trainers Pam McCormick and Heidi Stafford. Josh joined MYTE (Metropolitan Youth Tap Ensemble), a semi-professional company, based in Virginia under the direction of Katie Padgett and Jason Holley where he was exposed to performing opportunities throughout Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. Performing live, Corporate events and television commercial choreographic works, by Broadway veteran Joseph Webb and Crishon Jerome.
Mr. Nixon has become a well-respected Tap Dance Instructor, with the privilege of participating in residencies, workshops and festivals in over 30 states in America and 20 countries throughout the world. His professional career has evolved to also afford him the opportunity to serve as the Assistant Artistic Director to Joseph Webb’s youth company, House of Tap. His continually evolving career has brought him to be seen in Dance Teacher and Dance Magazine features, production and performance opportunities alongside his mentors Chloe and Maud Arnold, Derick Grant, and Ted Louis Levy. Josh has performed with Chloe Arnold’s Apartment 33, Ryan Johnson’s SOLE Defined and Heidi Stafford’s Sundays on Tap, and has recently assisted Tap faculty at Break the Floor events. Recent Credits include the Root 100 Awards, Lincoln Center, The Smithsonian Institution, MS Europa 2 cruise ship, and choreography for the national Miss America Pageant.
When not traveling, Josh is pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University and running his own video production company. Josh passes on his love, respect and knowledge for tap dance as a guest instructor at a handful of Universities and studios throughout the VA/DC Metro Area, as well as heading his new pre-professional tap company, SYTE & Sound.

Jarrod Paulson

🕺 JARROD PAULSON
Jarrod is a dancer, instructor, and choreographer based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He has been dancing since he was 10 years old, beginning his training at Larkin Dance Studio. After high school Jarrod lived in Los Angeles for 5 years pursuing a professional dance career, partaking in many dance related projects including working with the production ’Glee’, touring across the world with the circus, and being featured on ’So You Think You Can Dance’ season 16.
Crash Dance Productions, a professional, contemporary dance company based in the Twin Cities, has been a part of Jarrod’s life for the past 7 years.
He has also been teaching at Larkin Dance Studio as a full time staff member for the past 6 years.
Jarrod enjoys traveling across the U.S. teaching and choreographing for other competitive studios.

Proper class attire consists of solid color leotard, tights, hair secured tightly
away from face and correct dance shoes. Dance pants are allowed for all
classes, with the exception of ballet. All warm up clothes must be removed
prior to each class.

MARY CARPENTER – Mary studied at CCM, the Cincinnati
Ballet Company school; scholarship at the David Howard Dance
Center, and holds a BA with high honors in dance from Butler
University. She danced for The Metropolitan Opera Ballet at
Lincoln Center; performed as a principal guest artist for Ohio
Dance Theatre and Granite State Ballet, and as a soloist with
Ballet Artists of Cincinnati, Maryland Ballet, Lexington Ballet, and
Charleston Ballet. Mary was previously on faculty for Broadway
Dance Center, The Ballet Hispanico School, Barnard College,
and The New School University. She currently teaches at Ballet
Academy East and the world-famous Steps on Broadway. She
directed nine ballet classroom music recordings with Roper
Records from creative movement through advanced ballet and is
a featured teacher in two DVDs for RizBiz Productions, “Budding
Ballerinas” and “From Tights to Tutus.” Mary created “The Magical
World of Ballet,” with Roper, a DVD designed for young dancers,
teachers, and parents. She holds certifications in Pilates mat and
Progressing Ballet Technique and you can take her ballet class on
the Dancio.com website, where she is a featured master teacher
for adult beginners. Ms. Carpenter’s latest project is a classroom
recording collaboration with Metropolitan Opera Ballet pianist
Steven Mitchell for his music app Balletrax. Mary is a master
pointe shoe fitter with over thirty years of experience working
with dancers in ABT, The Royal Ballet, and NYCB – to name a
few. She has given pointe shoe lectures at prestigious summer
programs for ABT/JKO, Dance Theatre of Harlem, NYSSA, and
Oklahoma Summer Arts in Quartz. She has served as a panelist
on pointe shoes alongside Misty Copeland, coached Julia Styles
for her role in the movie “Save the Last Dance”, and assisted
NYCB principal dancer Jenifer Ringer with pointe shoes for Oprah
Winfrey for TV. Mary is the featured pointe shoe expert for the
last video project by the late master teacher David Howard “I’ll
Be Seeing You” on Vimeo. In 2015 she launched her Youtube
channel “Dancewithmary NYC” where she shares her pointe
shoe expertise in monthly segments.

As a dance therapist, Jeff has worked in psychiatric units,
halfway houses, and homeless shelters.
He is the founder of House of Roses, a volunteer
organization, helping to build self-esteem and self
confidence through dance with young people living in
homeless shelters around the city.
